Driver on life support after Addu car crash

The man who sustained serious injuries in a car crash in Addu City’s Hithadhoo on Saturday has been transferred to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Male’, where he is being treated on a ventilator.

The accident was reported to the police at 04:50 pm Saturday, and involved a speeding car that overturned in the reclaimed area of Hithadhoo.

The accident resulted in injuries to all four people in the car, including the 42-year-old man driving the vehicle, who sustained serious injuries in the crash.

He was transferred to the IGMH in Male’ on Saturday morning.

A spokesperson from IGMH told Sun that the man sustained serious injuries, and is being treated on a ventilator at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The other three people injured in the accident were treated at the Addu Equatorial Hospital.

The accident is under investigation by the police.
