The Bank of Maldives (BML) held its annual Staff Awards on March 27, 2026, providing a platform to honor the exceptional efforts of its staff across various divisions. The event highlighted the organization's collective achievements throughout 2025, a period described by leadership as the most successful year in the bank's four-decade history. Awards were distributed across multiple categories, focusing on innovation, project excellence, and leadership, with specific accolades granted to individuals who have significantly contributed to the bank's strategic growth and operational resilience.
Bank of Maldives (BML) celebrated excellence and recognized the outstanding achievements of its employees at the prestigious BML Staff Awards held on Friday evening.
The coveted Employee of the Year Award was presented to Misbah Abdul Rasheed, Head of Business Systems (Technology Division), in recognition of his exceptional performance and contribution last year.
The Leadership Excellence Award was awarded to Yuzna Naseem, Head of Property (Properties and Administration Division), for her strong leadership and impactful contributions.
Awards were also presented to individual staff and teams across key categories including Outstanding Team Achievement, Project Excellence, and Innovation Catalyst.
The CEO’s Award for Outstanding Achievement was presented to five distinguished employees in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the bank’s performance and long-term strategic success.
The BML says that these individuals demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment, delivering impact not only within their respective areas but also across the bank’s broader strategic planning, execution, and business outcomes.

Addressing staff at the event, BML’s CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said that 2025 marks a defining chapter in the bank’s 43-year journey — its most successful year to date.
“Beyond strong financial performance, it reflects our expanding role in driving economic progress across the Maldives. This success is built on the dedication, professionalism, and ambition of our people,” he said.
“Tonight, we celebrate those who have gone above and beyond — individuals and teams whose contributions have shaped this milestone year and continue to inspire our path forward.”
A total of 38 awards were presented during the evening, recognizing exceptional performance and contributions across the bank.
