On Saturday, a 79-year-old resident of GDh. Fiyoaree, identified as Mohamed Hussain, tragically drowned while engaged in net fishing. The incident was reported to local police in the early morning hours, prompting an immediate response. Upon being transported to the Fiyoaree Health Center, the individual was confirmed deceased. Local authorities have since commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

The incident was reported to the police at around 01:42 am Saturday.
The police identified the deceased as Mohamed Hussain, 79, Gahaakoalhi, GDh. Fiyoaree.
He was already deceased when taken to the Fiyoaree Health Center, said the police, quoting health officials.
The police are looking into the death.
